I have installed Windows 8<\/a> few days back. And during some initial programs setup I noticed that Windows 8 does not include .NET 3.5 (include .NET 2.0 and 3.0) by default.\u00a0However it did contained the setup in the OS<\/a> disc.<\/p>\n

So question is, How to install the .NET framework 3.5<\/a> including .NET 2.0 and 3.0 ?<\/p>\n

Solution is answered as below.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had found my solution on Microsoft support<\/a>\u00a0?\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This an\u00a0Re-post\u00a0of the same with corrections.<\/p>\n

Steps below shows how we can install \/enable the .NET Framework 3.5 (include .NET 2.0 and 3.0)<\/em>\u00a0feature in offline mode i.e. without using internet:<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/strong>:\u00a0Insert Windows 8 DVD<\/a> or mount ISO image<\/a>. The source of this feature can be found in folder E:\\sources\\sxs<\/em>\u00a0(In this case E: drive letter will be on which Windows 8 Media is located).<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/strong>:\u00a0Open cmd.exe (Command Prompt<\/a>) with Administrative Privileges<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/strong>:\u00a0Run the following command<\/p>\n

dism.exe \/online \/enable-feature \/featurename:NetFx3 \/All \/Source:"E:\\sources\\sxs" \/LimitAccess<\/pre>\n
and then hit Enter.<\/p>\n

Command Prompt shows installation of the feature completed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Finish:<\/strong> After completing the installation of .NET Framework 3.5 you can see that the feature is enabled as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n
